SARS-cov-2 genetics: a review of the literature

Abstract

The article provides a systematic literature review based on data from the text databases of well-known medical and biological publications such as Science Direct, PubMed, GISAID, the World Health Organization and Scopus between January and November 2020. In December 2019, in the Chinese city of Wuhan, it was reported that the cause of the virus was pneumonia. The World Health Organization has announced the discovery of a new coronavirus (abbreviated CoV). The International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses has named this coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2).
