As every year, on the occasion of the beginning of the academic year, on September 13, traditional meetings with the nature of getting to know the newly admitted students to the Azerbaijan Medical University were held. The meetings were attended by faculty deans, deputy deans, as well as parents of young people who experienced student joy.

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention, associate professor Elshad Novruzov congratulated the students and their parents and expressed his heartfelt words. The dean drew attention to a number of important issues related to student life and teaching and urged them to be disciplined. E. Novruzov gave the meeting participants detailed information about the university's educational buildings, clinics, dormitories, sports complex, electronic website, newspaper and library, and talked to the young people about the departments, professors and teaching staff of the faculty where they will study, as well as scientific and pedagogical achievements.

The first-year students were also informed about the university's internal rules, the educational system, the examination process, and the reforms carried out in the higher school in recent years.

The dean of the II Faculty of Medicine and Prevention, associate professor Israil Maharrambayli also congratulated the students and their parents and told the future doctors about the educational process and internal rules at AMU. I. Maharrambayli talked about how sacred and responsible the medical profession is.

At the meeting, a promotional video about the activities of the Faculty of Medicine and II Treatment and Prevention was shown, and the students were given necessary information.

The next meeting was held with students and their parents admitted to the Faculty of Public Health. The dean of the faculty, associate professor Galina Ganiyeva and deputy dean Naila Mammadova introduced the students to the Bologna credit system, assessment, credit debt, etc. gave detailed information about it. They said that it is important for students to constantly work on themselves in order to become educated and professional doctors in the future. The students were also thoroughly informed about the existing material and technical base of AMU, public organizations, internal disciplinary rules, lectures, practical seminars and the examination process. They called on the first-year students to communicate sincerely with the dean from the first day, and to actively participate in the public life of the university.

Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, associate professor Elmira Aliyeva congratulated the newly admitted students to our university and wished them success. The dean gave information about the activities of the departments within the faculty, the organization of the teaching process, and the rules of discipline. He urged the students to seriously prepare for classes and always be open to new knowledge.

Faculty representatives informed the students about various issues and answered their questions. At the meeting, future dentists were told about the important role of dentistry in people's lives.

Another meeting was held with new students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The dean of the faculty, associate professor Farah Medatli congratulated the young people and wished them success on the way to acquire this honorable profession.

The dean informed the students about the historical development path of AMU, including the Faculty of Pharmacy. He recalled that the Institute of Pharmacy was established in Azerbaijan by the prominent statesman Aziz Aliyev in 1938 and said that we were the only country among the neighboring countries where a separate institute for pharmaceutical education was established. Since 1942, the Institute of Pharmacy continues to operate as a faculty under the Institute of Medicine. Speaking about the advantages of our university's international accreditation, the dean of the faculty pointed out that it is for this reason that our diplomas are recognized in many foreign countries.

Young people who have earned the title of new student were also informed about the teaching corps where they will study, university clinics, the teaching process, and the examination system. Envelopes containing a student card, a copy of the contract and the anthem of the university were presented to them.

It should be noted that after the meetings, the first-year students and their parents, accompanied by the faculty staff, toured the university campus and got to know the educational buildings and auditoriums.
